None of that is true for textures, which I could add to basically any game. Your save file is only useful in that game and couldn't be made without it. No offense meant RE your mod, but a character save file that you left up isn't equivalent in a lot of ways that matter for this discussion. It's a big project, and 99% of it is custom work. Now imagine it took twice that long, and twice that much care. Imagine how much care and worry went into making it nice for everyone. Please imagine how long that took me to do. I love this game so much that in the span of a year and a half have basically retextured the entirety of the Tamriel worldspace (outside of architecture) to spuce the place up and share it with the community. It would be a shame if you never continued your work over this whole thing.

While I seem to disagree with yours, I do respect it and respect you for taking the time and effort to contribute to keeping these games alive. This is why a lot of users have had it with this entire drama.Įveryone has the right to their opinion and has the right to express it.

The fact is that too many authors have pulled their mods for shitty reasons and they've tarnished the concept. Entitled asshats are going to be entitled asshats that will never understand. Post that you've had enough and take a break. Sick of the demanding entitlement that a lot of users seem to have? Then ignore them.

If a bug turns up, again, just post that the mod is bugged and move on.

If it's a WIP, then simply post such and update as needed. I just feel that if I'm satisfied enough with a mod's progress to post it, then there's no real reason to ever delete it. However, I won't pull the mod simply because a few people seemed to like her and my need the online backup some day. She's pretty terrible and I wouldn't make her the same way now. As an example, I made a dunmer archer follower some years ago for Skyrim SL. Second, while the Nexus is no longer allowing mod authors to completely delete their mods, why does this bother you? I'm not asking you to explain yourself and I'm truly not trying to be antagonistic with this question. As I stated before, I make my mods for myself and think that perhaps a few other people might enjoy them. However, before you make a choice either way, I'd like to ask a couple of questions.įirst, why do you make mods? Because you want to improve the game? To give to the community? To make a bit of money? Because tinkering is just fun? A lot of modders have their own motivations for making mods and while some just want to contribute, the evidence shows that more than a few do it just for the ego boost of endorsements and public acclaim. I do appreciate that you don't like the Nexus taking away a bit of control over your mods, and if you choose to not share anything more with the community, that's your right and perogative.
